We all float down here
Speak no evil: holy moly...

Well, this movie took me by surprise… I really didn’t know what to expect from this one because I haven’t watched the OG movie, and basically I just took a glance at a trailer, which doesn’t really capture the whole ˝show˝ that’s about to happen. Speak No Evil is about a married couple and their child who are kind of in a low point in their marriage and relationships with each other, so they decide to go on a family trip to try and spark up their marriage once again. After meeting another lovely couple who look like everything they always wanted to look like (relationship-wise), they end up befriending them, and this is where the shitshow begins. The new friends invite the family over to their remote cottage house in England, and weird things start to happen… Is it just them, or are the newly acquired friends really weird, or even worse, is something sinister going on there? Plot aside, the movie is built on this eerie and unsettling atmosphere that is not letting you close your eyes for a second. James McAvoy, who plays Paddy, is the main reason for that atmosphere, and I have to say that he did a marvellous job with this one. I’ve got to say, after this one and Split, James officially is in a You are not acting; you literally are a lunatic category. His strange antics with his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi) really made me laugh a couple of times, but sometimes it was like, Oookaayy, I’m uncomfortable watching this in a movie theatre with other people… Ohh … and yep… there she goes sucking him off under the table… (spoiler alert!! Hehehh). So the acting is fantastic. The only character that really got on my nerves is Ben Dalton (more on him later on). Visuals are great; the story is kind of already heard of (the family goes on a trip and some lunatic doesn’t let them leave), but it does a good job, nevertheless. Overall, this is a really good movie, and I would recommend you watch this with someone for sure. Oh, lastly, let me get back to that cuck of a husband, Ben. Looks like Scoot McNairy really did a good job on his part because this character is just a walking disaster for me. My dude is a living reincarnation of Courage the Cowardly Dog…. How did he end up with such a badass wife (who is great in a movie too, btw)? It really doesn’t make sense to me. Watch the movie!

SPOILER REVIEW
Look, let me be completely honest… I saw this movie a couple of months ago, and I don’t really remember everything, but some parts stuck in my head, so let’s start. As said the husband is a complete cuck who i cant stand as a character, but… There is this little wining bitch of a daughter with her mental illneses and her teddy bear. THE MOVIE WOULD HAVE ENDED AT 45 MIN MARK IF IT WASN’T FOR THAT TEDDY BEAR. That part made me go, ˝Really, movie… really…˝ You are going to pull that off. I found that part completely dumb and cliche. But hey, that’s just my opinion. The relationship between Paddy and Ben is a goldmine. The way Paddy tries to bring out a man out of Ben is just so funny to me. The screaming at the mountains, the sex advice, etc. Speaking of sex advice, I don’t really know if it’s just me, but I felt this constant sexual energy from a movie that really added a bit more spark to that unsettling atmosphere. The dinner BJ scene really made me uncomfortable in the cinema, tbh. Lastly, I want to say that the ending when they smash Paddy’s skull really made me feel this kind of relief. Like, hey, one less psycho in the world, yaaaay. I really found this movie to be pretty good, and I would definitely watch it again after some time.
