The story is expectedly good, and I would say nostalgic if you are a fan of the book and the mini-series. The casting is great, especially Bill Hader (Richie), who made me laugh throughout the whole movie. One of the biggest problems with this movie is the same as in Part 1, and it’s Pennywise the Clown. He is like a walking CGI, and a bad one, I would say. Most of the time, he would appear on the screen, and the audience would just laugh. There is literally a scene where he looks like a Snapchat dog filter, and that’s the part where I gave up on him. Not to mention those stupid dance moves of his, where you see that they used CGI again. If you want a real horror experience, watch Tim Curry’s version of Pennywise; they can’t be compared on any level. The other thing I’m disappointed in is the fact that they went for the jump scares and not the atmosphere, but that’s the problem with all “new era” horror movies. For me, the 1990 version is far better, and they had a far lower budget, which says something about this movie.
